After I interviewed Sewing Blogger and Hat Enthusiast, Chuleenan Svetvilas, I asked her if she would meet me at Lacis to help with some of my millinery choices. We met inside (where I as already busy picking out boning for my foundation garment) and then did the tour of the Millinery section.
Lacis has a large selection of hat forms, Horsehair Braid, Millinery wire, Feathers, ribbons and more. It was a little overwhelming. I finally decided on several different ribbons, a pink feather flower, assorted ostrich and other feathers, some wire & petersham ribbon for the brim.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Truly a fun destination for ANY & EVERY sewing enthusiast and very knowledgeable staff. Manager Erin is always ripe with tidbits of sewing history and uses for all the amazing things they have in this wonderful shop. You should also know that Lacis houses a Lace Museum and, Curated by Erin, they often have, spectacular exhibits of all kinds needlework. Oh, and don't forget to look up! There are hundreds of vintage dresses hanging on the walls and from the ceiling.
